About Me

Hi, I'm Kayla, and I'm an Educational Services Representative (ESR) with PaperPie.

I've been with PaperPie since February 2019, and my background is in early childhood education, general sciences, and working with special needs children. I've also worked in the non-profit sector for several years now.

I live in Saint Louis, MO with my husband and two young kids—a daughter who has some physical limitations, developmental delays and sensory needs, as well as a son who's just learning to read!

My daughter was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) when she was three years old. It's been a major challenge for us as a family to keep up with her special needs. Thanks to the early intervention services, specialized therapists, PaperPie children's books, and my educational background; my daughter has made amazing strides over the past few years!

As an Epilepsy Awareness Ambassador with The Epilepsy Foundation, I have become very involved in the this community. My mission is to bring epilepsy out of the shadows so that more people can understand what it means to live with it and how everyone can help.

When I’m not promoting literacy or advocating for people with special needs, you'll find me singing Disney songs around the house or dancing to music from Frozen. My favorite sport is hockey (Go Blues!), but I also really love aviation and space exploration!
