The History of Educational Development Corporation (EDC), Usborne Books and Kane Miller

What is Usborne Books & More? We are company that is a division of EDC, which represents Independent Consultants who sell books directly from authors and illustrators all around the world. We offer children's books both from Usborne Publishing and Kane Miller EDC Publishing. Our books are high quality, educational, interactive, diverse and fun! We carry over 2,000+ titles of books and have 4 new book releases every year! Our books range from babies up to teenagers. But I also like to think we even have books for the young at heart readers too!

Our Company Timeline

1961-Educational Development Corporation (EDC) was founded. At the time their main focus was only on developing supplemental curriculum material to schools.

1978- EDC received the rights to publish children's books from Usborne Publishing in the United Kingdom. Thank you, Peter Usborne!

1989- Usborne Books was 1st created as a direct selling division at home. This is when Independent Consultants started to come into the picture to sell the books.

2008- EDC acquired Kane Miller Books and formed a partnership. The & More part of Usborne Books & More represents Kane Miller. I always like to say we need both to produce the best children's books- think of them both like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You can't have one without the other.

Fun fact: In 2021, Forbes Magazine named Usborne Books & More as one of America's 100 Fastest Growing Small Companies!
